About Us

The mission of Lark is to expose high school age Austinites to local art and the outdoors as well as to introduce them to doing their own DIY projects, decor, art, and gardens with an emphasis on environment-friendly living.

Authors

Cecilia Handy, Frankie Marchan, and John Chan attend the Liberal Arts and Science Academy High School in Austin, Texas.  They care for the environment and enjoy creating functional objects for themselves.

Cecilia
Cecilia is a crafty individual who creates her own jewelry, accessories, and décor from paper, books, fabric, and thrifted and vintage materials.  She is currently raising five chicks in her backyard, where she also has a bottle tree as well as other forms of yard art.

Frankie
Frankie cares about the environment and is learning how to recognize and abolish invasive species, especially non-native plants.  She is interested in reusing old clothes to make headbands, scarves, and gloves, but is not very knowledgeable on the subject.

John
John appreciates wildlife, plants, and animals alike.  He is not particularly crafty, but supports the reuse of old materials. He believes in the elimination of litter and the encourages the protection of the environment.
